My end of second year class film may be on an indefinite hiatus, but I thought I’d share some of my favourite background painting stuff that I did for that. It was an interesting project—I find working pretty much monochromatically more challenging than using colour, because colour is something I’m really passionate about and just naturally feel inclined to use at all times. It took some self restraint to avoid the temptation to “enhance” everything with a splash of 10 of brightness but in the end I was happy with how these came out.
The layouts themselves were drawn by various classmates and then I painted them in Illustrator.
